What’s in it for us?
If you’ve watched the films and read the blogs, you’ll already realise that there is more to Pitch your Project than winning the prize money.
First of all, if you are shortlisted, you get £250 for to pay for volunteer expenses, take a couple of hours out of the working day, pay for a room to meet in and really think about your future as an organisation. When we lead busy lives with pressing needs on all sides, this can be one of the most valuable aspects of Pitch your Project.
Then there is the day itself. There’s loads to do and lots of people to meet and share ideas with. You will have one to one time with specialist designers, practice writing your own case study and have an impressive array of resources to tap into. Whether you want fundrasing tips or to learn how to write a press release, one thing’s for sure there’s something for everyone.
Blyth Valley Breastfeeding Peer Support donned their own specially designed ‘Don’t Bottle It’ T-shirts and went on to win the top prize after an impressive pitch. Anglea Hibbert, volunteer coordinator for the group said:
We are really chuffed to bits. We enjoyed it so much we were thinking it would be a bonus if we won, as the whole thing has been such a learning curve.
